2. AI for ETF Investing

ETF investing works best when your process is consistent—especially during market rotations (risk-on → risk-off → rates shocks → sector leadership shifts). The challenge isn’t picking an ETF once; it’s repeating good decisions over time.

TradeOS is a personal AI decision-making agent for trading—designed to help you follow clear rules, monitor signals, and stay disciplined for strategies like DCA and ETF rotation.

Educational only. Not financial advice.

1) DCA: Keep it simple, add discipline

DCA wins by reducing emotion. A strong “AI-assisted DCA” plan defines:

  • Schedule: weekly / bi-weekly / monthly

  • Core ETF: broad index (e.g., SPY/VOO style)

  • Optional “add-on buys”: when price is meaningfully below trend or after a pullback

  • Optional risk guardrail: reduce buys or pause during clear downtrends to avoid blindly averaging into persistent weakness

The goal: fewer “should I buy this month?” debates—more consistent execution.

2) Rotation strategy: Let leadership decide exposure

Rotation is a repeatable question:

“Which ETF(s) have the strongest trend and best momentum right now—without taking unnecessary risk?”

A practical rotation universe often includes:

  • Risk-on: broad equity / growth ETFs

  • Defensive: bonds or gold ETFs

  • Cash-like: short-duration Treasury ETF as a fallback

3) A simple TradeOS rotation playbook

A robust rotation approach usually includes:

  • Trend filter: only hold ETFs that are in an uptrend (e.g., above a moving average)

  • Momentum ranking: pick the strongest 1–2 ETFs in your list

  • Risk switch: move defensive (or cash-like) when trends break or volatility spikes

  • Rebalance cadence: weekly or monthly, plus a minimum holding period to reduce churn

Two realistic strategy templates

Template A: DCA + Trend Guardrail

  • DCA into a core equity ETF

  • If trend breaks, reduce size or pause

  • Resume when trend recovers

Template B: Monthly 3-Way Rotation (Equity / Bonds / Gold)

  • Rank three ETFs by momentum monthly

  • Hold the top choice only if trend is positive

  • If none qualify, rotate to cash-like ETF

Why AI helps ETF strategies

ETF investing doesn’t need predictions—it needs consistent decisions. TradeOS helps you:

  • monitor conditions without staring at charts

  • stick to your rules through volatility

  • run the same process repeatedly and improve it over time
